EU3 Honda Civic Modulo Exhaust Muffler

The Honda Modulo muffler which i won on Yahoo auctions Japan arrived today. Since i had the day off decided to head off to a mate's workshop to borrow his hoist to get it fitted.

Ooohh Nice!

OEM Stuff

I find that its sitting abit low after fitting it to the car, the gap is probably allowance for the rear skirt. Mmmm... ( I think its time to 'fill in that skirt gap').

Inspiration

Overall, after roadtesting, found that it hardly made any difference noise-wise, however there is a very slight improvement to throttle response using my ass-dyno.

Mitsubishi Evo IV CN9A Tune

Finally got the old banger tuned early this month after 6 long years of owning/(slow)building it.
Many thanks to the boys at Tokyo Motorsports.
240kw ( 321HP ) at the wheel hubs. I'm pretty happy with the results

Photo was taken at an earlier tuning attempt, but was unable to as we found the transfer case was broken!

More details on the build to come.....

Honda EU3 Civic lowering springs mod

Fitted these Eibach Pro-kit springs, dropped about 30mm in height.
More information on these Springs can be found here:
http://eibach.com/global/en/products/street-performance/performance-springs/pro-kit

These springs come progressive, great when you want to lower your vehicle but yet want to retain the comfort. Have had these springs for about just over a month now, and i must say driving the Civic feels much better now. Handling has greatly improved over stock. Less squat during acceleration and braking and also less roll during corners.

Watch this video by the guys from mightycarmods.com on how to install your lowering springs the correct way if you intend to DIY it.

Hate that wheel gap

Straight from factory! Eibach-sealed

2002 EU3 Honda Civic

This is my (wife's) daily commuter, an Aussie-delivered 2002 EU3 Honda Civic VI 5-door Hatchback. Purchased in June 2015. Sporting a 1.7 D-series SOHC VTEC engine, this small econo-box suprisingly puts out 95kw (128HP) at the crank and yet delivers excellent fuel economy. Its not fast, but it handles well.

At the moment it is still factory standard except for a drop in panel K&N air filter (cleaner).

Mods that i am planning for:

  • Muffler
  • Lowered springs
  • Wheels
  • Front lip spoiler(splitter)?
